Like every great growth, the Green PUY Lentil has its constituted brotherhood of “Knights” who fiercely defend the jewel of the Velay. They enthrone the defenders of French culinary tradition of which the Green PUY Lentil is a flagship product.

An original place at the side of growers and professionals

  • May and September 1995: 12 Founder Knights, a birth and a baptism
  • 2002: 18 Knights in their Robes, dedicated defenders of the Green PUY Lentil, anxious to tell its history and praise its virtues
  • About 200 Honorary Knights
  • A highly symbolic costume in green colours, with a collar of Le Puy lace extended with a beaten pewter medal, depicting a sprig of lentil on a background of the town of Le Puy-en-Velay
  • A charter to be respected to be admitted to the Verte Confrérie
  • An Oath of Honour and Friendship, a guarantee of loyalty to the Green PUY Lentil
